When the night comes, St. Julian’s is THE place to be. In the heart of the resort stands Paceville, the most animated nightlife district in the archipelago, also called the ‘mini-Ibiza‘. This famous nightlife hot spot is full of restaurants, fast food outlets, bars, pubs and nightclubs. Locals as well as tourists end up there to enjoy a crazy night until the early morning. It gets quickly crowded every night, particularly on the weekend. Thus, Paceville is a big holiday resort, considered as a little piece of heaven by party animals.
Whether you like dance, techno, disco or latino music, Paceville displays an impressive range of clubs to please every holidaymaker. Entrance is free and alcohol is flowing all night, at ridiculously cheap prices. Some fast food and groceries are also open till very late.
Though, if dancing until the end of the night is not your thing, there are still many activities waiting for you in Paceville. You could go to the Eden Cinema to enjoy a good movie or play a game of bowling at the Eden Bowling Centre. If you are searching for relaxation, Paceville abounds with affordable massage centers. You can even enjoy a ticklish yet amazing fish pedicure at the Fish Lounge, for only €9 the session of 15 minutes and €15 for 30 minutes. The Fish Spa is now also available as a full body massage – not to be missed.
Surely the area is the ideal place to party, however if you are looking for quiet accommodation in Malta, you should avoid Paceville. The small district is intensely festive at every hour of the day and gets really noisy every night. For a calm but close accommodation, choose nearby Sliema. The nice sea-side resort is much more quieter and is only at 10-15 minutes by walk from Paceville.
How to Get There
Paceville is easily accessible by bus. The numbers 12 and 13, for example, both serve St. Julian’s. These 2 lines are very popular, as they are big bendy buses and run really often (every 5 to 10 minutes). Please note that night buses are available from 11pm to 3am for a special fare of €2.50 per person (subscriptions, student cards or day tickets won’t work). Taxis or mini-bus services are also available till late within the area.
