Bus Tours in Malta are an amazing and fun way to discover the island. One will surely enjoy Malta’s lovely sceneries by hopping on these colourful sightseeing English double-decker buses. Most of these trips are Hop On-Hop Off tours, organised both in Malta and Gozo.

Even if the Maltese islands are quite small, 1 day wouldn’t be enough to see and visit everything. So in order to make the most of many sightseeing spot in a short timeframe, 3 main itineraries are offered: the North Route, the South Route and the Gozo Tour. One is then free to choose from either one or all itineraries.

The North Route includes popular sights such as the Sliema promenade, a tour of the Capital City of Valletta with its spectacular architecture, waterfront and museums, the silent city of Mdina, Rabat, Mgarr etc. The South Route also goes through Sliema and the Ta’ Xbiex promenade, to arrive in Valletta for a tour in the beautiful city. Then, the bus will head towards Tarxien, the Three Cities, Zejtun, the colourful fishing village of Marsaxlokk, Ghaxaq, the astonishing Blue Grotto, to finish with the temples of Hagar Qim & Mnajdra. Finally, the Gozo Route drives from the port of Mgarr to Xewkija, Victoria (Gozo’s Capital City), Dbiegi, the breath-taking Azure Window with the Blue Hole in Dwejra, Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, Xlendi Bay, Fontana and Marsalforn. The tour will end with a visit of the Ggantija Temples in Xaghra and a quick stop in the cities of Ramla and Nadur. 

Also, explanations are provided in many different languages during the tour, allowing one to easily appreciate and understand Malta’s exciting past.

Practical Information:

These interesting tours by bus are quite affordable: €15 for 1 day trip per adult and €9 per child. Since excursions are extremely popular, they are available 7 days a week, from January to December.
